Women of the Land is a seven-piece body of work within MINA’s wider Ghana at 70 Heritage Collection, celebrating the strength, labour, care and cultural influence of women in Ghanaian community life.
Through scenes of motherhood, food preparation, fishing, carrying water and firewood, walking with children, and working within the landscape, the collection reflects the many ways women sustain families and communities from one generation to the next.
Painted in a warm, unified palette, each work places the female figure within the Ghanaian landscape, connecting everyday life with ideas of heritage, resilience, memory, responsibility and continuity.
Rather than presenting these women as background figures, MINA places them at the centre of the narrative. Their daily actions become symbols of contribution and endurance, acknowledging forms of work and care that are often essential yet insufficiently recognised.
Together, the seven paintings form a visual tribute to women as bearers of life, culture, knowledge and community.
The collection forms part of MINA’s ongoing exploration of Ghanaian heritage in preparation for Ghana’s 70th Independence anniversary in 2027.
Exhibition Delivery Notice
All original paintings purchased from the Ghana at 70 Heritage Collection: Women of the Land will remain with MINA | Mina’s Art Space for exhibition purposes and will be shipped to the buyer after the conclusion of the planned 2027 exhibition.
